FARO® Firmware Installation for Focus Premium & Core

This article provides instructions for how to download and install the latest version of firmware for the Focus Premium & Core scanners. (Last Updated: May 23, 2023)

Without the right firmware installed, your FARO® Focus Laser Scanner might not operate correctly. When FARO releases new firmware or FARO SCENE software, you should update the firmware installed on your scanner. Firmware updates provide new operational features, fixes for various issues, and enhance the overall performance of your device.

The automatic update feature for new firmware for the FARO Premium is currently not yet available, you must manually download and install the firmware.

Verify Firmware Version

Check the firmware version number to determine if you have the latest version.

  1. On the Scanner, go to Manage General Settings > Scanner Details.
  2. The latest version is 7.2.2, released May 23, 2023.

Release Notes

NOTE: Always perform firmware updates indoors away from windows and doors. Any access to the outside may cause interference with the GPS server.

WARNING: Downloading firmware from a source other than explicitly provided by DiCarlo Precision Instrument or FARO direct may void your warranty and cause damage to your scanner.
